Potomac Valley AAU District Girls Basketball (GBB) Committee Meeting 
 

Meeting Minutes for December 10, 2008: Falls Church High School @ 7:30 PM – Initial Draft for Review and Approval at January 2009 Meeting 

Call to Order and Clubs in Attendance  
The December 10, 2008, Potomac Valley AAU (PVAAU) girls’ basketball meeting was held at Falls Church High School in Falls Church, Virginia .  Andy Stadnik called the meeting to order at 7:35pm. 

The following clubs were represented at the meeting: 
Cardinal 
Classics 
Fairfax Stars 
Flames 
Matrix 

The following clubs were certified as being eligible to vote at the meeting: Cardinal (Stan King); Classics (Andy Stadnik); Fairfax Stars (Aggie McCormick-Dix); Flames (Mike Baker, via proxy); Matrix (Jim Butler). 

Approval of Meeting Minutes from October 8, 2008   
Mr. Stadnik asked the group to review the minutes from the October PVAAU meeting.  Ms. McCormick-Dix of the Fairfax Stars offered a motion to approve the minutes of the October meeting.  Jim Butler of the Matrix seconded the motion.  The motion to approve the minutes was passed by a vote of 5 to 0. 

Reminder for Players to Obtain AAU Cards 
Next, Mr. Stadnik reminded the group about obtaining AAU cards for all players and coaches with the correct club code for the 2008-2009 program year.  He also advised everyone to contact Mr. Butler with any club contact updates for the PVAAU GBB website.  

Advance Planning – 2009 DQT Checklist 
Mr. Stadnik also asked the group to review the DQT tournament checklist document in preparation for the January meeting, and to also turn in any DQT bid forms at the January meeting. 

Report from October 2008 AAU Convention – by Stan King 
Next, Mr. King provided his report from attending the AAU Convention in Cancun in October.  A discussion of the various rules proposals, voting results, and the new rules for 2009 commenced.  The rules changes are presented in the attached document. 

New Business 
No new business was brought before the committee.  

As a final note, Mr. Stadnik asked any clubs who plan to turn in DQT bid forms to keep in mind to coordinate with officials on the final DQT rules sheet in advance of the tournaments.  Mr. Stadnik also informed the group that a DVD on the NCAA rules changes and points of emphasis would be available for viewing after the meeting, and he could make copies of the DVD available at a later date as well. 

Meeting Adjourned 
The meeting was adjourned at 8:17pm.
