Potomac Valley District in Zone A
All the Districts nationwide are divided into one of four zones.  The Potomac Valley Districts is in Zone A.


Why Zones Are Important in the AAU Organization
Zones are important in the AAU organization for the following reasons:
.  An elected representative from each of the four Zones serves on the AAU Board of Directors (AAU Code, Bylaws Section 10.2)
.  Zone Councils.  Zone Councils consist of the District Governor and a second District designess from each District located in the Zone (AAU Code, Bylaws Section 11.4)



Zones Defined by District (AAU Code, Appendix D)
Zone A: New England, Adirondack, Niagara, Connecticut , Metropolitan, New Jersey, Middle Atlantic, Maryland, Potomac Valley , Western Pennsylvania ,
Virginia, Ohio, Lake Erie

Zone B: North Carolina, Florida , Southeastern, Southern, Gulf, Southwestern, Kentucky, South Texas, , West Texas, Florida, Florida Gold Coast, West Virginia, South Carolina, Puerto Rico

Zone C: Michigan, Wisconsin, Central, Ozark, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri Valley, Nebraska, Montana, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming , Minnesota, Indiana

Zone D: Hawaiian, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Inland Empire , Pacific Northwest, Oregon, Alaska, Southern Pacific, Central California, Arizona , Pacific Southwest, Southern Nevada , Pacific
