Day 6 -- YBAM Sparks Fall by One Point in Finals, Take Home Silver Medal; MD Lady Crusaders Finish Fourth
Championship bracket finals. The Potomac Valley District Division II champion YBAM Sparks fell 59-58 to the CT Starters in Saturday’s 14-Under Division II National Championship.
Congratulations to Coach Witmer and all the Sparks for winning the silver medal. The medal is the fifth medal earned by Potomac Valley teams in 2008.
Bronze medal game. In the bronze medal game, the MD Lady Crusaders lost to the CP Ballers 69-47. But despite the loss, the Lady Crusaders finished in fourth place at 14-Under Division II Nationals. Congratulations to Coach Bryant and all the Lady Crusader players.

Day 5 -- YBAM Sparks Knock off Lady Crusaders In Semifinal Match to Advance to Finals
Championship bracket. The YBAM Sparks and the MD Lady Crusaders faced off in the semifinals for a opporutnity to play for the gold medal in Saturday’s final. The Sparks advanced to the final with a 73-64 victory over the Lady Crusaders, who will compete in the bronze medal game.
Earlier on Friday, the Sparks defeated the Extreme Hawks 69-59 and the Lady Crusaders topped WI Hoops Select 47-43 to set up the all Maryland semifinal.
Classic Bracket. The Lady Tarheels fell to the MD Lady Comets 68-62 and were eliminated from the tournament.
Day 4 -- YBAM Sparks and Lady Crusaders Advance to Quarterfinals; Could Face Eachother in Semifinals
Championship bracket. The YBAM Sparks and the MD Lady Crusaders both went 2-0 on Thursday to advance to the quarterfinals in this single elimination tournament.
The Sparks had a first round BYE and then defeated the CT Basketball Academy 62-35. The Lady Crusaders knocked out fellow PV member Arlington Pride 53-41 before defeating VA-Team PTLS 69-67.
The MD United Lady Ballers won their first game 79-70 before being eliminated in their second game 72-28 by the NC Lady Elite.
Classic Bracket. The MD Flames and BRYC Tarheels were eliminate in their first game while the Lady Tarheels advanced to the quarterfinals and will face the MD Lady Comets on Friday at 11:30 AM.
Day 3 -- YBAM Sparks Win Pool, Leading Four PV Teams Into Championship Bracket
The Potomac Valley 14-Under Division II champion YBAM Sparks went 4-0 to win Pool H, advancing to the Championship Bracket. Joining them in the Championship Bracket will be
. MD United Lady Ballers -- 4-1, 2nd place
. MD Lady Crusaders -- 3-1, 2nd place
. Arlington Pride -- 2-2, 3rd place (tied 2nd, but lost tie-breaker)
The following three teams did not finish in the top two in their pool and will now participate in the Classic Bracket:
. Lady Tarheels -- 1-3, 4th place
. BRYC Tarheels -- 1-3, 5th place
. MD Flames -- 1-3, 5th place

Day 1 -- Three PV Teams Go Undefeated on First Day of Action in Hampton
The 14-Under Division II National Championships got underway in Hampton Roads, Viriginia on Monday; seven Potomac Valley District teams are participating in the tournament.
On the first day of action, three Potomac Valley teams went undefeated: MD United Lady Ballers (2-0), Arlington Pride (1-0), YBAM Sparks (1-0). BRYC went 1-1 on the day, while the Flames, MD Lady Crusaders and Lady Tarheels all went 0-1.
Each team will play four pool play games with the top two finishers in each pool advancing to Championship play, with the remaining teams playing in the Classic Bracket; both are single elimination bracket formats.
