Day 6 -- Flames Go Home with Top 5 Finish! Stars Eliminated from Classic
Championship Bracket. After a great run here in Norman, OK in which they won five straight games to start the tourney, the Flames will be heading back to Maryland with a 5th place finish at the 13-Under Division I National Championship. The Flames dropped their game in the loser’s bracket on Thursday 64-31 to Dayton Lady Hoop Black.
This is the second consecutive year that this team has finished 5th at Nationals. Congratulations to Coach Alan Wang and the players on the Flames team.
Classic Bracket. After a long run through the loser’s bracket, the Fairfax Stars tournament ended on Thursday with a 57-42 loss to the GA Pistols Gold.

Day 5 -- Flames Lose First Game of Tourney, Drop into Loser’s Bracket: Stars Win Two More in Classic Loser’s Bracket
Championship Bracket. With their first loss of the tournament, the MD Flames dropped into the loser’s bracket of the Championship Bracket. Their loss was a 41-52 affair with the OCBF L Select. They play at 9:00 AM on Thursday vs. the Dayton Lady Hoop Black to try to stay alive.
Classic Bracket. For the second day in a row, the Fairfax Stars won twice in a day to stay afloat in the loser’s bracket of of the Classic Bracket. The Stars started the day cruising to a 58-44 win over the TX Titans, but their evening game was a nailbiter over the Northeast Rockets 42-41. The GA Pistols Gold are up next at 10:30 AM Thursday.
The MD Lady Lakers lost on Wednesday and were eliminated.
Day 4 -- Flames Win Again in Championship Bracket; Classic: Lady Lakers Fall to Loser’s Bracket and Stars Win Two to Stay Alive
Championship Bracket. The MD Flames defeated the Westside Select 55-43 on Tuesday afternoon to continue its march through the 13U D-I Championship Winner’s Bracket. As one of four teams still alive in the winner’s bracket, the Flames play their next game on Wednesday at 3:00 vs. OCBF L Select.
Classic Bracket. The MD Lady Lakers lost today to fall into the loser’s bracket for a game on Wednesday vs. the OH-Angels Bball Club.
The Fairfax Stars, battling their way through the loser’s bracket won two games today over the OK Bobcats and the IN-The Family Blue. They play again on Wednesday at Noon vs. the TX Titans.
Day 3 -- Flames Win, Advancing in Championship Bracket; Lady Lakers Win Two in Classic
Championship Bracket. The MD Flames, the only PV team in the Championhip Bracket, won its opener on Monday 58-53 over the AL SouthStarz. They play their second game on Tuesday at 3:00 vs. Westside Select.
Classic Bracket. The MD Lady Lakers took their first two games of the Classic Bracket, defeating the Lady Prospects 55-23 and then taking The Family Blue 66-57. The Fairfax Stars lost their first game 61-48 and will play their second game on Tuesday in the loser’s bracket.
Day 2 -- Flames Sweep to Pool Play Win and Advance to Championship Bracket
The MD Flames went 3-0 in pool play to advance to Monday’s Championship Bracket. With their #5 seed, the Flames receive a first round BYE on Monday morning; their first game will be Monday evening.
The Fairfax Stars and MD Lady Lakers both finished in bottom half of their respective pools, meaning that they’ll be participating in the Classic Bracket starting Monday.

Day 1 -- Flames 2-0, Stars 1-1 and MD Lady Lakers 0-2 in First Day Pool Play
The #5 MD Flames went 2-0, winning by 21 and 15, in the first day of pool play. The Fairfax Stars went 1-1, while the MD Lady Lakers were 0-2.
Pool play wraps up Sunday. The top two teams from each pool will advance to a double-elimination Championship Bracket. All other teams will play in the double-elimination Classic Bracket.

Three teams from the Potomac Valley District, the Maryland Flames, Fairfax Stars, and Maryland Lady Lakers, are entered in the 13-Under D-I National Championsips in Norman, OK; the PV champion Flames are the #5 seed. Games start in Norman on Saturday.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to a double-elimination Championship Bracket. All other teams will play in the double-elimination Classic Bracket.
