Open Division: GTS Aces Take Home Bronze Medal

Day 5 -- GTS Takes Home Bronze Medal
The GTS Aces came home with a bronze medal from the Open Division National Championship on Saturday. The defeated the Florida Ice 74-58 in the consolation game to clinch a medal. Congratulations to Coach Russell Loughner and the GTS Aces on their medal. Earlier in the day, the Aces fell in the semi-final to the CA Windsor Valiants.
The Potomac Fusion finished 5th in the tournament.
Day 4 -- GTS Wins Final Game Finishing 3-3 To Advance to Championship Playoff
The GTS Aces won its final game of pool play to finish at 3-3, good for fourth place out of the seven teams in the tournament; they tied for third, but their loss to the other 3-3 team pushed them to 4th place.
Their 4th place finish was still enough to get them into the four-team single elimination tournament for a shot at the championship. The play the 1st place, undefeated, CA Windsor Valiants Saturday at 9:00 in the semi-finals. The Aces gave the Valiants their toughest game in pool play, a 66-63 loss for the Aces.
The Potomac Fusion dropped its final game to finish 2-4 for 5th place to just miss the four-team tournament.
Days 2/3 -- Potomac Fusion and GTS Aces Both 2-3 After Three Days
With one day left in pool play, both the GTS Aces and the Potomac Fusion hold 2-3 records.
The Aces went 0-2 on Wednesday and split two games on Thursday. The Fusion fell short in two games on Wednsday and won its only game on Thursday.
Both teams play one game on Friday to wrap up pool play; all seven teams in the tournament will advance the Championship Bracket.
Day 1-- Potomac Fusion Go 1-1 and GTS Aces Go 1-0 on Opening Day
On the first day at the Open Division AAU Nationals at Disney, both the Potomac Fusion split their games and the GTS Aces won its opener.
The Fusion lost 75-61 to AL Twisters elite and then bounced back in the afternoon to take Hoop Fever 79-66. The Aces triumphed 84-69 over Boo Williams Red Tide Believers to start the tournament.
