Fairfax Stars 11U Gold Team
With Their Gold Medals and National Championship Trophy

The Fairfax Stars defeated the Dayton Lady Hoopsters on Wednesday, July 1 by the final score of 46-42 to win the 2009 11-Under Division I National Championship.

The 2009 title time was nip and tuck the whole way.  Trailing 38-31 late in the second half, the Stars turned things around and closed the game with a 15-4 run to claim the title. 

Combined with their national championship earned at the 2008 10-Under Nationals, this Fairfax Stars team becomes only the second Potomac Vally team to ever claim back-to-back Division I national championships.

Congratulations to the following Stars players:  Lindsey Abed, Leeah Betourd, DeJanie Boykin, Karlie Cronin, Jessica Daguih, Sharon Hull, Kelly Koshuta, Raven Lott, Taylor Murray, Marta Sniezek, Lauren Turner and Breeja Wilkens.  Jeff Boykin is the team’s head coach.
